Articles Processing Charges

“Annali di Stomatologia” is committed to providing unrestricted access to high-quality scholarly research.

Article submitted to “Annali di Stomatologia” with an unlimited number of figures and tables, are published at Euro 500,00 (subject to VAT or local taxes where applicable)

To sustain the open access model and ensure the publication process is efficient, we charge authors Article Processing Charges (APCs) upon the acceptance of the manuscripts.

The Article Processing Charges (APCs) cover a wide array of services, including but not limited to:

• Manuscript Submission System: Maintaining an efficient and user-friendly platform (Publishing Manager) for authors, reviewers, and editors.
• Peer-Review Management: Coordinating the peer-review process to ensure timely and rigorous evaluation of manuscripts. Our journal teams oversee all aspects of journal operations, including editorial board management. Moreover, the journal ensures ethical behavior is upheld by using software to detect plagiarism and figure manipulation.
• Copy-editing and Typesetting: Enhancing the readability and formatting of manuscripts to meet publication standards.
• Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Assigning DOIs to articles for easy identification and citation.
• Publication and Archiving: Ensuring articles are hosted on reliable servers and preserved for future access (e.g., CLOCKSS). Publication processes include indexing and abstracting services.
• Administration: APCs also include expenses for overall operations, encompassing human resources, accounting, and administrative costs.

 

Publication Fee Waivers

Works made by Researchers from developing countries may be subject to special conditions/benefits.

Authors coming from the countries included in the “United Nations list of Least Developed Countries” are entitled to ask for a discount.

*Please be informed that applications for waivers have to be made during initial submission and not after an article has been accepted. 

The waiver status does not affect the review process or editorial decision-making.

 

Payment Process

Authors or their institutions are required to pay the APC after manuscript acceptance and prior to publication. The payment will only be processed after official acceptance and the journal will never require any prior deposit during the review process. Third parties are not authorized to collect APCs for the journal.

Refund Policy

Dedicated editors carefully review manuscripts enhancing the readability and formatting of manuscripts to meet publication standards. Any remaining queries are discussed with the author. The article is published only after all issues are satisfactorily addressed. 

The Editor in Chief retains the right to overturn the article’s acceptance if evidence of scientific misconduct is discovered during the production or copyediting process. This includes issues such as figure manipulation/duplication, plagiarism, and other ethical violations. In these cases, the Article Processing Charge (APC) will not be refunded.

“Annali di Stomatologia” does not refund APCs once paid and in case of voluntary withdrawal by authors before publication and in case of retractions following post-publication concerns.
